Halloween

So this would be Blake's second Halloween, but he didn't really partake so much last year. This year he was a mouse. Rebecca's mom, Ruth, got some costumes off of craigslist from a mom of twins, so it was perfect.
These are a few pictures of when the costumes first arrived...

So this weekend we [Rebecca, Jaleah, Blake and I] went to 50th & France in Edina for their trick or treating event. It was craziness to say the least, but fun for the kids. Each store was handing out candy. They were in their strollers, so it wasn't too stressful for them. But they loved seeing all the kids and costumes. Here is a pic of Blake enjoying this new fangled idea of getting candy in a bucket!
Still relatively in a good mood, however towards the end it was about time for a nap!

Now most of you may know that I'm not a big Halloween fan. So in years past we have just turned out the lights and stayed inside...usually works...no trick or treaters. Not to mention I usually don't even buy candy because I know it will just sit in our house and we'll eat it instead. So this year was no different, EXCEPT that we have new neighbors with two little girls. They are about 3 and 5, prime trick or treating age....so of course around 5:40 pm [too soon to have lights on, let alone off!] the doorbell rang. Brian and I just looked at each other and didn't know what to do! So he took Blake's candy bucket from this weekend and answered the door. He gave them each two pieces, which only left one for us. Which in hindsight was probably a good thing. However we had just depleated our only source of candy. So I continued to make supper hoping that no one else would ring the doorbell...my backup plan was handing out apples! It's all we had. Luckily, we didn't have any more kids, and only one little bag of Skittles to show for the whole weekend!
